Move To Heal provides arts-based movement and mindfulness classes and experiences.

Move To Heal South Dakota dance and yoga classes are filled with music, joy and healing actions tailored to meet the needs of each group or individual. The health benefits of Move To Heal South Dakota reach beyond the physical to include the emotional and spiritual aspects of a person, restoring a profound sense of well-being. We provide group classes in health care and community settings.

We believe that we can’t heal what we can’t feel and when you begin feeling, you begin healing.

Through our movement and mindfulness opportunities we share practical and effective tools to help regulate your nervous system, strengthen your emotional resiliency, and allow a sense of hope to restore your body.

Movement & Mindfulness Classes | Youth

Move To Heal volunteer instructors lead participants through movement & mindfulness activities in partnership with area after-school programs. One way we do this is through a partnership with Sioux Falls Thrive and the Boys & Girls Club. We offer art-based movement and mindfulness activities to school-age kids at the Kid Link Riverside Program on Tuesdays from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. CST with the opportunity to reach up to 50 kids.

We have partnered with Sanford fit to deliver wellness content to kids that uses a combination of the latest scientific and behavioral research designed to educate, motivate, and inspire children of all ages to live a balanced, healthy lifestyle.

Moving Light 3-day Workshop

Moving Light is unique collaboration between two nonprofit organizations, Headlights Theater and Move To Heal South Dakota, with a shared mission of making dance accessible in the community. Our two organizations are coming together to create a high quality, affordable and accessible movement workshop for kids in underserved areas of the community. This 3 day workshop on July 20-22 includes dance and yoga classes for youth ages 7-13 years old that will enhance their confidence while giving them a safe space to express themselves through movement.

Moving Light will be taught by Move To Heal yoga teachers and Headlights Theater NYC Professional Dancers. Participants and their families will also have the opportunity to attend a Headlights Theater Performance on July 22, featuring a local musician and the Professional Dancers, free of charge.
